Foundry is a small project studio located in a former copper pipe
factory in Seattle's Sodo district. The the former factory now houses
a flourishing artistic community, including glass blowers, custom
stone cutters, silkscreen artists, hemp rope designers, knife makers,
and artistic iron fabricators, to name but a few. Sharing a roof with
the artist co-op keeps not only provides a consistently inspiring
environment to create in, it also lets us have far less overhead than
the larger studios around town. Low overhead allows us to offer a less
expensive rate for the same high-quality results.
Foundry was built by a bunch of musician friends who all wanted to
record projects, but were sick of the pressure, expense, and attitude
of regular recording studios. So, with producer/engineer Pierre
Ferguson leading the way, they built the studio by hand, filled it
with high-end recording gear and started cutting tracks. Soon people
were coming out of the woodwork wanting to take advantage of the
relaxed vibe, the great gear, and the blessing of being able to take
the extra time to let a song become what it was meant to be. No more
rushing through takes, no more hurried mix downs. In order to help
keep the gear up to date, Foundry was opened up to anyone who has a
project they want to see come to life, though it is still the go-to
studio for the musicians who first built it.
Pierre Ferguson, who leads the team at Foundry, has nearly 20 years
under his belt in the music industry. As a graduate of The Seattle Art
Institute and as a successful musician with many national releases to
his credit, he and his associates have used their expertise to help
many a musician and songwriter see their musical vision become
reality.
At Foundry we specialize in digital multi-track recording, music
production, and short run CD duplication to get your music heard. We
